Found a Ford Powerstroke Excursion sitting in a FIELD!

Image
Sold one Powerstroke, picked up one a little newer. She's a BEAST. She also needs a name. What would you name it?! This is a 2002 Ford Excursion Limited with the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. Odometer shows a little over 370,000 miles!!! It's in okay shape and has some cool aftermarket parts, but there's some bad news. It acts like it has a dead cylinder. Here we go!

You're ready to mow the lawn. You pull the mower out of the shed, fill it up with gas, check the oil, and rip on that starter cord... But... NOTHING. It won't start! Use this simple guide to diagnose what might be wrong! This how-to video will not show you how to fix what's broken, but it WILL show you how to figure out WHAT needs fixed! I'll be doing more videos on the HOW to fix soon!   I bought a brand new bike in December. It's finally starting to warm up here in Idaho, and we had a chance to ride on Endurocross Pro Mason Rutledge's old practice track! It's fairly overgrown but we love this beautiful spot. The kids have plenty of room to play and the "big kids" can hit the harder stuff if they want! I hauled the T7 out to see how it really does with some big air, and you know what? I really don't think the stock suspension is all that bad! Yes, its got the landing characteristics of an anvil, but man does it love to fly! My little guy is LOVING his Z50. So... why not let my 16 yr old take the Yamaha T7 for a spin and see if I can keep up on a nearly 40 year old 50cc bike?!?! Did I mention that I'm 6'6"!? We all had a ton of fun but re-learned an important lesson. Even just playing around in a field, ALWAYS WEAR ALL YOUR GEAR!!! NINETY YEAR OLD ENGINE- Will it start!?

Image
Small engine history! These old engine's literally changed the WORLD. They brought about the industrial revolution and modernized just about every aspect of life when they became readily available to farms, builders, homes, and the like! This particular engine has been in the family since new- 89 YEARS ago! Originally manufacture in 1933, it was used on a ranch in Montana for dozens of years. My Dad rescued it from a dilapidated building, and then it sat for another dozen years before he finally let me at it. Several years ago I brought it into my middle school shop as a teaching aide for my Small Engine Repair class. I had to literally chisel the old gas out of the tank- it had dried into some weird hardened mass. I also discovered the divider plate between the crank case and the gas tank had rusted through, so I made a new one! It took some doing but I got the engine to run, and it ran pretty well! I haven't started it in several years, but it's time for s
